    would like to make the content area wide , as we are finding whe some itmes the pages run out of the area.

    Please refer to the "Configuration" section of the README.html file located inside the Envy theme folder. The easiest way to view this file is to go to Admin > Appearance > Theme Selector, and then select the Envy theme - even if you have it selected already. The first page shown will be the README.html file.
