http://lauramac.org/moodle/
and I want to change the colour - to purple for the first try.A friend installed my current blue and he is not available for me to consult about changing the colour. Can you please help?
I have the vitality folder on my desktop at the moment, in case that info is needed. In site administration, under theme selector, I have only vitality, which appears in blue when I click "choose." How do I get the other colours on that list?
I really hope you can help me with this as I have spent several hours searching for a way.
Thanks very much,

more from lauram:
I read the tutorial, but I don't understand this:
Once unzipped, you should have a folder containing your theme files (i.e. header.html, footer.html, config.php, etc.). Upload this folder to your web server to ../moodle/theme/[folder_name].
How do I upload to my web server? Where is my web server?

Your web server is where your Moodle lives. For instance, if I go to http://lauramac.org/moodle/, I am essentially opening files on your web server. your vitality theme lives at http://lauramac.org/moodle/theme/vitality/ - however you cannot access that folder through your web browser because (for security reasons) you will be denied access.
But, you don't even need that tutorial, since you already have your Vitality theme installed!
You want to:
1. login to your Moodle as an admin.
2. go to Admin >> Appearance >> Themes >> Theme Selector
3. select "Vitality" even if you already have it selected.
4. This will show you the theme README file which explains how to change the color from blue to purple.
5. Let me know if you have further questions. For reference, I've attached a screenshot of the section of that README file you want to read.

Thank you for your information.
Yes, I changed the color in line 7 in the config.php file in the vitality folder, which now lives on my desktop.
A screenshot of config.php that I altered is attached.
What next? How does moodle recognize the color change?
I think I need a little more help.
Thanks very much in advance,
lauramI also want to confirm where the vitality folder should reside - on the desktop OK?

No. Not on your desktop.
Your Moodle installation is on your web server. That is how I, presumably miles away from you, can access your site by going to http://lauramac.org/moodle/.
When I follow that address, I'm essentially opening a file called "moodle" on you server.
Do you have FTP (or any other) access the files located at that domain?

I don't know the web server access information so I can't do that. I need to ask the person who set up the moodle and installed vitality for me in the first place, I guess.
I will need some time for that I think. Will be back when I have some answers. Thanks very much.
