    Hi Patrick,
    Have you ever come across a theme specification that would disable the use of text background colors, a.k.a. highlighting? My teachers are attempting to highlight words in labels and module headers, and it doesn't seem to stick in my new customized theme, but I did not purposefully prevent it with code.

    If you've heard of it, I'd love to remedy this. Thanks, Patrick. :)

    I'm guessing that your teachers are using the HTML editor to add this background color? Look into the source code of the text once it's been highlighted. It may be using a background color to do the highlighting - and you might have a background color set in your CSS that is interfering with this in the cascade.
