What is Moodle?

What do you mean when you say "fully supported" in Moodle versions 1.6 through 2.0?

All of our themes are built on top of the Standard theme, which is specifically developed along side every Moodle version. When Moodle changes, so does the Standard theme. Since all of our themes load the Standard theme first, they should all retain their beauty and integrity while taking on any newly added code.

And if something does break? We'll be there for you.

Which Moodle version would you recommend I install?

The most recent one that is stable, of course! We use 1.8.2 and we love it.

How do I install a Moodle theme?

Logical question. It is really quite simple.

  1. Unarchive the ZIP file that you've downloaded from this site.

  2. Open your Moodle directory and go to /moodle/theme/

  3. Move the entire unarchived file into the theme folder (/moodle/theme/themegoeshere/)

  4. Visit your Moodle site on the web and login using an admin account.

  5. Select "Appearence" » "Themes" » "Theme Selector" from the Site Adminstration menu on the front page.

  6. Find your new theme and press "Choose."

  7. Don't forget to read the README contents before moving on


You're done!

When will my purchased theme be delivered?

Immediately after payment is made, a unique download link will be generated for you. PayPal will redirect you to that download page automatically. Just in case something goes wrong, the link is also emailed to you. It remains active for 24 hours, or until you download the theme three times.

Can I delete the link to NewSchool Learning from the footer of my site?

With our explicit permission you can. Otherwise, our license states that it must stay. We have styled the link to be as unobtrusive (invisible unless rolled over) as possible in the hopes that you will abide by our license agreement.

Nevertheless, we can imagine why you might not want this link to be there (you're doing work for a client, you're a prestigious institution, you're trying to impress your boss, etc.), so we have simplified the process of link removal by offering this option for $44.95:

Can I move the link to NewSchool Learning?

As long as you link back to us in some way that is accessible to the web, we're happy. Put it wherever you like (e.g. on a credits page, etc.).

Will any of these themes work on Moodle 1.X?

All of these themes have been written on 1.8. For 1.7 installations, you should have no problems. 1.6? You shouldn't have any trouble either. 1.5? Not recommended. 1.6 was a pretty big jump for themes. You could try, but we can't support your decision.

Can I alter my purchased theme at all?

No. Just kidding! Do what you like with it. As long as you

  1. continue to link back to NewSchool Learning, and

  2. never share your theme, or any derivative of your theme, with anyone, and

  3. only install the theme on one Moodle installation per license purchased

I hate PayPal, but want a theme. Is there an alternative available?

At this time, PayPal is the only online pay service that we use. Perhaps in the future we will utilize an "in house" payment system, but for now, PayPal does everything we need it to do without the hassle of worrying about your security on our server. We're designers; not network administrators. You should be happy we've made this decision!

If you hate/don't want to use/don't understand PayPal, but would still like to purchase a theme, let us know and we'll work out an alternative plan (check, cash, gift card). It may take a little longer, but we'll get it done.

I like these themes but am looking for a more custom look and feel. Do you do that, too?

Of course. We do custom work all of the time. Depending on the amount of work you want done, it can be quite affordable. Contact us for a quote today. Please include in your message your ideas, a timeframe, and any budget information you have in mind. That will be very helpful. Thanks.

Can I resell a theme that I purchase from NewSchool Learning?

When you purchase a theme from us, you are purchasing a license to use it. Hence, you cannot resell it. If you would like to discuss the possibility of buying full rights to one of our themes, drop us a line.

What happens if I lose the download? Or my hard drive crashes?

Simply send us an email with some details from your purchase. We'll send you a new download.

Can I install one of your themes for a client?

Yes, provided that the client abides by the same license. And, provided that you purchase a new license for each installation on which our theme is used.
